HBE Families,

As we move further into the school year, something special is beginning to happen across Hobby Elementary: our Mini Aviators are blossoming. 💛✈️

The beginning of a school year comes with so much newness. New classrooms, new teachers, new friendships, new routines, and for many of our students, new expectations. Those first few weeks require a lot of practice, reminders, patience, and consistency from all of us.

Now, we are beginning to see that work take root.

We see students walking into school with more confidence and independence. We see them learning the routines of their classrooms, building relationships with their teachers and classmates, and understanding what it means to be part of the HBE community. Most importantly, we are seeing them grow as learners. They are being challenged to think, explain, persevere when something is difficult, and try again when they do not get it the first time.

That growth does not happen overnight. Just like anything we want to see blossom, it takes time, care, consistency, and a lot of encouragement along the way.

Families, you are an important part of that growth. Every morning you get them here ready to learn, every conversation you have about their day, every time you reinforce an expectation at home, and every time you remind them that they CAN do hard things, you are helping us build the students we know they can become.

We still have so much growing to do this year, and our expectations for our Mini Aviators will continue to be high because we believe in what they are capable of. But we also want to make sure we stop long enough to celebrate the growth already happening.

Thank you for continuing to grow alongside us and for trusting us with your Mini Aviators each day.

HBE is blossoming, one student, one classroom, and one day at a time. 🌱💛

HBE Family Updates: Learning Takes Flight!

HBE Families, we have exciting opportunities ahead to celebrate learning and strengthen the partnership between home and school!

 

🏫 Open House: Thursday, September 24 from 4:00–5:30 PM

We invite all HBE families to join us for Open House! Come see all that our Mini Aviators have learned during Quarter 1, connect with teachers and staff, and learn about our new library checkout system, launching October 5.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our classrooms and celebrate the learning happening every day at HBE!

 

🎯 Student Learning Goals: September 28 - October 9

Beginning Monday, September 28, teachers will begin sharing individual learning goals with every student. Through Friday, October 9, students will have opportunities to:

• Understand what they are working toward
• Track their progress toward their goals
• Celebrate growth and identify next steps
• Take ownership of their role in their learning journey

At HBE, we want every Mini Aviator to know where they are, where they’re going, and how they can soar to greater heights!
