Dear Hobby Elementary Families,

Thank you for another wonderful week at Hobby Elementary! It has been exciting to see our Mini Aviators continue settling into their routines, building relationships, and growing as learners.

A special thank you to all of the families who joined us for our first Coffee with the Principal of the school year! It was wonderful to see so many returning families and to welcome new families into our Hobby Elementary community. I appreciated the opportunity to connect, share updates about our campus, answer questions, and hear directly from you. Your partnership and involvement are an important part of the work we do each day.

As we continue moving through the school year, we are focused on creating strong learning experiences for every student while also building a school community where students and families feel connected and supported. We are grateful for the trust you place in us each day.

Thank you for continuing to support strong attendance, on-time arrival, and our schoolwide expectations. Every day with our students matters, and we are excited about all that is ahead for our Mini Aviators as we continue Flying to New Heights!

Mini Aviator Families,

Join us for a fun evening at Chuck E. Cheese on Friday, September 11 from 3:00–9:00 PM! Bring the family out for games, food, and a chance to spend time with our Hobby Elementary community.

25% of qualifying sales will be donated directly back to Hobby Elementary! Funds raised help us support our students, staff, campus events, and other school needs throughout the year.

🐭 Special surprise: Chuck E. will be visiting Hobby Elementary during dismissal that day to get our Mini Aviators excited for the evening!

The Coupon Flyer will be sent home Thursday before the event so students will not lose the flyer, and attached will be free 10-play points!

Please help us make this fundraiser a success by sharing with family and friends and joining us on September 11! We can’t wait to see you there

We are officially in Week 4! As our students continue settling into the school year, our Special Education team is focused on building strong routines, providing individualized support, and helping each student grow academically, socially, and independently.

Thank you for your continued partnership and communication. Please continue to share any questions, concerns, or celebrations with your child’s teacher or case manager. I am also here to support you and help make sure your child has what they need to be successful.

💙 Need Support for Your Child? Submit a Student Assistance Form (SAF)

 

Dear Parents & Families,

 

We want every student to feel safe, supported, and successful at school. If you have a concern about your child’s social, emotional, behavioral, or basic needs, you may submit a Student Assistance Form (SAF) to request additional support from our campus Student Support Counselor.

 

📝 When SHOULD I Submit an SAF?

Please consider submitting an SAF if your child is experiencing:

• ❤️ Emotional concerns – frequent sadness, worry, anger, or difficulty managing emotions
• 🧠 Social-emotional concerns – low self-esteem, difficulty coping, or significant changes in behavior
• 🤝 Peer or friendship concerns – ongoing difficulty making or maintaining healthy friendships
• 🏠 Family or life changes – divorce/separation, death or grief, housing changes, or another major family transition affecting your child at school
• 🎒 Basic-needs concerns – clothing, hygiene items, food, or other family support needs
• 🏫 School adjustment concerns – significant difficulty transitioning to school or changes that are affecting your child's well-being
• 🌱 Additional support – you believe your child may benefit from short-term social-emotional support or connection to community resources

 

🚫 When Should I NOT Submit an SAF?

An SAF is not the appropriate form for:

• 📚 Questions about grades, homework, or academic assignments — please contact your child’s teacher.
• 📅 Attendance or absence questions — please contact the appropriate campus staff.
• 👕 Dress code or routine school concerns — please contact your child’s teacher or campus staff.
• ⚖️ Discipline consequences — please contact your child’s teacher or grade-level administrator.
• 💬 A one-time, minor peer disagreement that can be appropriately addressed by the classroom teacher.
• 🚨 An immediate safety or emergency situation — please contact the school directly rather than waiting for an SAF to be reviewed.

 

📲 How Do I Submit an SAF?

1. Access the Student Assistance Form (SAF) using the link or QR code provided by the school.
2. Complete the requested information about your child.
3. Briefly describe your concern and the type of support you are requesting.
4. Submit the form.
5. The Counselor will review the request and determine the next steps.

 

💡 Please Remember

Submitting an SAF does not automatically mean your child will receive ongoing counseling. The form helps us understand your concern, identify the most appropriate support, and connect your child or family with the right school or community resource.
