Dear Families,

Many of you have stepped forward  volunteering at events, supporting classroom activities, helping organize celebrations, and simply showing up with open hands and generous hearts. Watching parents take initiative and help lead parts of our campus events has been beautiful to see.

You are not just attending events, you are helping build our school culture.

When families partner with us in this way, students feel it. They see that school matters. They see adults working together. They feel proud of where they learn.

A strong school is not built by teachers and staff alone, it is built by a community. And this year, our community is shining.

Thank you for your time, your leadership, your encouragement, and your belief in our campus. We are grateful for each of you and look forward to continuing to grow together.

Dear Families,

This week was an important one for our 3rd grade students as they completed their Math Common Assessment. We are incredibly proud of the focus and determination they showed. These assessments give us clear insight into where students are excelling and where we need to be even more intentional in our instruction. With this data, our work becomes even more targeted.

In 3rd grade, our team is taking a narrowed and strategic approach in the weeks ahead to ensure students are fully prepared for STAAR. Instruction will be tightly aligned to the specific skills students need most, and we will be intentional about strengthening comprehension skills, problem-solving, accuracy, and confidence. Every day of learning between now and testing matters.

In PK–2, our focus remains on strong grade-level preparation as we move closer to the end of the year. Our teachers are continuing to build the academic foundations students need to transition successfully to the next grade level. The habits, stamina, and skills students are developing now will directly impact their success next year.

Your partnership continues to make a difference. Ensuring daily attendance, encouraging effort, and reinforcing the importance of learning at home helps us maximize every instructional minute. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for working alongside us to finish the year strong.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend!

Supporting Our Students Together

Dear Parents:

We would like to share a few ways we can continue working together to ensure your child thrives both academically and socially.

How you can stay involved:

  • Daily Attendance: Being present and on time each day makes a huge difference in your child’s learning.

  • Homework & Reading: Ask your child about what they’re learning and encourage daily reading at home.

  • Stay Connected: Watch for classroom announcements, school updates, and opportunities to attend school events.

  • Reach Out: If you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress, we’re here to help. Communication between home and school is key.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and support.

I have completed Acanthosis Nigricans screening on 1st and 3rd graders. If your student was positive, they will be pulled from class for two blood pressure checks, height, and weight. Once this information is obtained, a referral letter will be sent home soon with further instructions to follow up with your primary physician.  Please read below for more information about the screening.

The Texas Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes in Children is a state-mandated program that helps assess children who may be at high risk to develop type 2 diabetes. This assessment is conducted by certified individuals in public and private schools during vision/hearing and scoliosis screenings. Children enrolled in 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th grades are assessed for high insulin levels. Children who are identified with the marker are also assessed for body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure. Risk assessments are issued to the parents of these children, alerting parents of the child's risk factors and encouraging further evaluation form a health professional.

The Texas Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes in Children is an important program because it can help identify children who have these risk factors, all of which can increase the possibility for children to develop type 2 diabetes. Becoming aware of and understanding what the risk factors suggest can stimulate the changes necessary to prevent or delay future health problems for children who may be at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and/or other conditions.
